GH One TV broadcaster Serwaa Amihere has issued a heartfelt apology following the public circulation of an intimate video featuring her and a man identified as Henry Fitz.
The video, which shows the well-known media personality in a private moment, was reportedly recorded five years ago and has recently surfaced on social media, sparking widespread controversy and debate.
In a press statement released on Wednesday night, Amihere addressed the incident publicly for the first time, expressing regret for the repercussions the video has had on her family, friends, employers, and the brands she represents.
“Sincerely, I say sorry for the embarrassment, disappointment, and frustration which this matter has caused,” she stated in the release posted on her social media handles.
Amihere noted that when the video was made, she “considerably underestimated the extent of my influence, my potentials, what I would become and what I would come to represent to this society.”
The broadcaster’s reflections highlight her acknowledgement of her role as a public figure and the responsibilities that come with it.
The release of the video has led to intense public scrutiny, with some reports suggesting that it dates back to 2019, prior to Fitz’s marriage.
Adding to the controversy are claims that Amihere attended Fitz’s wedding in a professional capacity as a guest or MC, and later engaged in an affair with him.
