The family of the late Nollywood actor, John Odonwodo, affectionately known as Junior Pope, has announced the funeral arrangements for the beloved actor, who tragically lost his life in a boat accident on April 10, 2024, alongside four others.
According to the funeral announcement signed by Divine Odonwodo on behalf of the family, the burial arrangements commenced on April 23 with a requiem mass at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish, Asaba, Delta State.
The solemn occasion marked the beginning of a series of events to honour and bid farewell to the talented actor.
Continuing with the commemorative ceremonies, another requiem mass is scheduled for May 13 at Christ the King Catholic Parish, G.R.A, Enugu.
This service provides an opportunity for friends, colleagues, and fans to pay their respects and celebrate Junior Pope’s life and contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
On May 14, an evening of tributes and candlelight will be held at the Amadeo Event Center in Enugu.
This will be a poignant moment for loved ones to share fond memories and heartfelt tributes to the late actor.
As the funeral proceedings progress, the wake will be held on May 16 at Junior Pope’s country home, Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, in Nsukkaa, Igboetiti LGA of Enugu State.
Following the wake, his interment will be conducted immediately after the burial mass at St. Peter’s Parish, Ukehe, on May 17, marking the final farewell to the beloved actor.
Concluding the funeral rites, a final Thanksgiving mass is scheduled for Sunday, May 19, at St. Peter’s Parish, Ukche Nsukkaa, Igboetiti LGA, Enugu.
