Veteran Actress, Liz Benson Returns To Nollywood

A Nollywood actress, Liz Benson is set to return to the movie industry in a new film titled “A Mother’s Son,” produced by Mercy Johnson and directed by Vincent De Anointed.

Mercy Johnson announced the exciting news in a behind-the-scenes video shared on her Instagram page, showcasing the warm welcome received by the veteran actress from the cast and crew.

The star-studded movie features a seasoned cast, including Mike Godson, Evia Simon, Ozioma Maurice, George Inaibeh, and the legendary Liz Benson.

Expressing her delight at joining the cast, Liz Benson remarked, “All the big people in Nollywood are here.

“You guys are doing exploits; God bless you.

“It’s nice to see all of you in real life. I am meeting all of you for the first time.

“But I have come to see my daughter (Mercy Johnson).”

Liz Benson, a native of Etinan, Akwa Ibom State, began her acting career at the age of five and gained prominence by playing the role of Mrs. Agnes Johnson in the television soap opera “Fortunes” on NTA in 1993.

She rose to stardom in the 1990s, starring in classic movies such as “Glamour Girls,” “True Confession,” “Diamond Rings,” “Scores to Settle,” “Evil Men 1 and 2,” “Conspiracy,” and “Dead End,” among others.

Before she returned to Nollywood, Benson transitioned to becoming a born-again Christian and now serves as an ordained minister, dedicating her time to preaching the gospel.
