In a resolute stance, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reiterated his dedication to fulfilling his responsibilities in enhancing the nation’s capital, Abuja.

Wike emphasized that he remains undeterred by the political dynamics in his home state, Rivers, as his focus remains steadfast on executing the assignments entrusted to him by President Bola Tinubu.

During an inspection tour of various projects slated for commissioning to mark the President’s first anniversary, Wike reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring their timely completion.

Despite ongoing political discussions concerning his home state, Wike emphasized that his primary concern is delivering on the tasks assigned to him by the presidency.

“I am not distracted. If I am distracted, you won’t see this performance here.

I focus on my work. I am not interested. I am the Minister of FCT, the works are going on.

If distracted, how will these works be progressing? I am not even thinking about it at all,” Wike affirmed, emphasizing his unwavering focus on his ministerial duties.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress of the inspected projects, Wike commended the contractors for their dedication and timely execution.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that all projects slated for commissioning between May 27 and June 6 are completed as scheduled.

“This is the final inspection as regards the preparedness for the inauguration of various projects.

From what we have seen, we believe we are ready for the commissioning from 27th May and will end on 6th June.

It is going to be a nine-day long event. So, we are happy, and contractors are meeting up, and all the promises they made, they have been fulfilled,” Wike stated.

Highlighting the forthcoming inauguration of the Abuja Metroline for commercial operations on May 27, Wike emphasized the government’s commitment to advancing critical infrastructure projects to enhance transportation in the capital.

“By the approval of Mr. President, we believe that 27th of this month, we shall start the inauguration of various projects, particularly on the 27, we believe the President will flag off the commercial operations of the Metroline,” he announced.
