President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of The Infrastructure Corporation of Nigeria (InfraCorp), as the Lead Arranger and Developer of Evergreen City, Nigeria’s pioneering green industrial zone.
This announcement was made in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Sunday.
The appointment of InfraCorp aligns with President Tinubu’s “commitment to ensuring industrial development that meets the demands of the present and the future,” Ngelale stated.
The terms of reference for the green industrial zone, as outlined in the statement, include the following responsibilities for InfraCorp:
Selection of Partners and Consultants: InfraCorp will undertake critical development activities, including project design, environmental impact assessments, feasibility studies, financial modeling, and market engagement.
Raising Private Funding: The corporation is tasked with securing private funding for the development of Evergreen City and its constituent projects.
Coordination: InfraCorp will coordinate with partners, development institutions, and other providers of capital and technical assistance.
Reporting: The corporation will report to the Supervisory Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.
Additionally, President Tinubu has established the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen, which will serve as the supervisory technical working group overseeing this pioneering project.

The President emphasized the importance of dedication and professionalism in driving this critical project.
The overarching goal is to make Nigeria the leading manufacturing hub in Africa for renewable energy technologies, green solutions, and climate-adaptation technologies.
“The President expects absolute dedication and professionalism to drive this critical project with the clear objective of making Nigeria the leading manufacturing hub in Africa.
For renewable energy technologies, green solutions, and climate-adaptation technologies for the maximum benefit of Nigerians and Africans at large,” the statement concluded.
