Bayern Munich has announced the appointment of Vincent Kompany as the new coach of the German giants on a three-year contract, effective immediately.
The 38-year-old Belgian joins Bayern despite overseeing Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League this season.
In a statement following his appointment, Kompany expressed his enthusiasm for the challenge ahead.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge at FC Bayern,” Kompany stated.
“As a coach, you have to stand for who you are as a person: I love having possession of the ball, being creative, and we also have to be aggressive on the pitch and brave.”
Kompany emphasized his coaching philosophy, highlighting the importance of team dynamics and laying the groundwork for success.
“I’m now looking forward to the most basic things: working with the players, building a team.
When the foundation is in place, success will follow,” he added.
