In the aftermath of the heinous attack by suspected members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on soldiers at Obikabia Junction Checkpoint in Abia State, details of the soldiers gruesomely murdered have emerged.
According to reports by our correspondents, the attack, which occurred on Thursday, saw not only soldiers targeted but also vehicles and tricycles set ablaze by the rampaging IPOB terrorists.
Confirming the tragic incident, the military high command revealed that five of its troops deployed at the checkpoint paid the ultimate price.
Among them were two Sergeants, two Corporals, and one Lance Corporal.
Additionally, six civilians lost their lives in the crossfire.
The fallen soldiers were identified as follows:

It was reported that the gunmen, suspected to be IPOB/ESN members, attacked the troops’ location in three black Toyota Land Cruiser Jeeps and opened fire, resulting in the tragic loss of lives.
The signal disclosed further details of the attack, stating, “Gunmen who were enforcing Sit-At-Home order numbering about 30, stormed troops location in 3 black Toyota Land Cruiser Jeeps and opened fire during which 5 x Soldiers were killed.”
Additionally, the assailants seized five AK47 rifles, burnt two military patrol Hilux vehicles, and injured two civilians.
