Music executive Don Jazzy and Afrobeats icon Wizkid have put an end to rumors of discord between them following a recent social media spat.
The dispute reportedly arose after Wizkid criticized Don Jazzy’s signee, Ladipoe, for allegedly mocking him on social media, leading to a public exchange between the two music moguls.
However, the tension seems to have dissipated as Don Jazzy publicly expressed his appreciation to Wizkid for endorsing his artist Ayra Starr’s second album, ‘The Year I Turned 21.’
This gesture came after Wizkid shared the album cover and streaming link on his X account, accompanied by the word “Superstar.” Don Jazzy reciprocated by reposting Wizkid’s tweet with a heartfelt “Thanks Big Wiz.”
This display of mutual respect signifies a reconciliation between the two prominent figures in the Nigerian music industry, much to the delight of their fans and supporters.
It is evident that both Don Jazzy and Wizkid have chosen to move past their differences and focus on promoting and uplifting the Nigerian music scene.
In a previous instance, Wizkid had taken offense when Ladipoe, under Don Jazzy’s label, appeared to slight Wizkid in an X post by claiming that “hip hop is dead.”
In response to a fan who informed Wizkid of the post, he dismissively commented, “Lol, never chatting with anyone signed to an influencer. Next.”
Additionally, Wizkid retweeted two posts suggesting that he was referring to Don Jazzy as an influencer.
