The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has launched a train-the-trainer workshop for APC e-membership registration.

Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday, Ganduje emphasized that the National Identification Number (NIN) would be mandatory for e-registration of party members nationwide.

Highlighting the significance of the e-registration process, Ganduje stated, “Each person is expected to provide his or her biometric data which must correlate with the details captured in the National Identity Number (NIN).

By doing so, any member whose name appears on the digital register shall be recognized as true and faithful members of our great party.

This will not only provide an insight into the total number of party members, their geographical distribution, and demographic divisions but will also serve as a reference for party appointments and election aspirations.”

Ganduje further added, “The APP and Portal for the prospective trainees from the 36 states and the FCT, Abuja, will soon be reactivated, enabling both existing and new members to register and join our party online from any part of the world.”

The project coordinator, Engr. Samuel Adedapo Adedoyin, emphasized that the electronic membership registration aims to overcome the inefficiencies of traditional paper-based or fragmented digital registration systems.

Adedoyin highlighted that the e-registration initiative will provide a unified and user-friendly interface for both members and administrators, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and communication within the party.

Notable stakeholders in the exercise include the Ministers of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, and Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani.
