Organized Labour has firmly rejected President Bola Tinubu’s assertion that an agreement has been reached regarding the new national minimum wages in his nationwide broadcast to mark Democracy Day.

According to Organized Labour, as of the time negotiations concluded on Friday, June 7, no agreement had been reached by the Tripartite Committee on the National Minimum Wage.

Instead, it was revealed that two figures had been proposed; one being N250,000 from Organised Labour and the other, N62,000 from the government and the Organised Private Sector (OPS).

These figures were supposed to be submitted to the President.

In a statement released by the Acting President of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Prince Adewale Adeyanju, Labour emphasized that any contrary claim was not only doctored but would not be accepted by Labour.
