Democracy Day: More Dividends Coming To Nigerians – Speaker

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Tajudeen Abbas, has extended his congratulations to all Nigerians on the commemoration of Democracy Day and the 25th anniversary of uninterrupted democracy.

In a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday, Abbas expressed optimism that the fruits of democracy would increasingly benefit a larger cross-section of Nigerians.

Reflecting on the progress made over the past 25 years, Abbas emphasized the entrenched nature of democracy in Nigeria, affirming that the nation has successfully navigated through various learning curves.

He acknowledged that while the democratic journey has not been flawless, Nigeria has consistently advanced in terms of democratic experience and practice.

Furthermore, Abbas highlighted the significance of this year’s celebrations, noting that it also marked the first anniversary of the 10th Assembly, which was inaugurated on June 13, 2023.

Encouraging unity and collective effort, Abbas called on Nigerians from all walks of life to actively contribute to the nation’s growth and development, emphasizing Nigeria’s potential to become a source of pride for its citizens.

In his address, the Speaker urged continued support for governments at all levels and emphasized the importance of upholding the law.

Stressing the collective responsibility of all stakeholders, with the citizens being pivotal, Abbas emphasized the crucial role of the people in ensuring the success of government plans, policies, and programs.
