The announcement was made in a statement on Friday in Abuja by Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior.

According to the statement, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government.
