In a shocking turn of events, Mr. Nick Imudia, the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Konga, one of Nigeria’s leading e-commerce platforms, has allegedly taken his own life.

Imudia, who was serving as the CEO of D.light, a company specializing in residential solar energy solutions and transformational household products, reportedly committed suicide by jumping from the balcony of his Lekki, Lagos apartment on the night of Tuesday, June 25.

According to sources, Imudia made several distressing calls before his fatal act.

He contacted his brother in the United States, providing instructions on how to distribute his wealth in the event of his death.

He also called his young daughter from a previous relationship, offering a poignant farewell and telling her, “I will always be there for you, just look in the sky and you will see me.”

The tragic incident has left friends, family, and associates in deep shock and confusion.

“No one is sure why he took his own life,” said a close associate. “Nick was a vibrant and successful individual, and this news is utterly devastating.”

Imudia hailed from the Ika South local government area of Delta State.

He was previously married to the mother of his young daughter, who is also from the same local government area. Their marriage ended due to irreconcilable differences.

Before his tenure at Konga, Nick Imudia had notable stints with TCL/Alcatel as a regional director and with Microsoft Device and Services as the General Manager/Managing Director for West and Central Africa.

The reason behind Imudia’s drastic step remains unclear, and his sudden demise has cast a pall over the tech and business communities.

Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident, and investigations are ongoing to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his death.
