The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Command in Kano State has deployed 3,400 personnel to ensure security during the planned protests in the state.
This was disclosed by the State Commandant of the Corps, Mohammad Falala, during a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday.
Ensuring Peaceful Protests
Falala stated that the security personnel would be on duty to provide security before, during, and after the protests across various parts of the state.
He emphasized that the command has put in place measures to enable residents to participate in the protests peacefully, without threats to their lives or property.
Collaboration with Other Security Agencies
The commandant highlighted the collaboration with other security agencies to ensure a crisis-free protest.
“An operational order has been issued to Area Commanders and Divisional Officers across the 44 LGAs to provide security at public buildings such as markets, banks, churches, mosques, recreation centres, and motor parks,” he said.
Assuring Public Safety
Falala assured law-abiding residents of their safety, stating that sufficient security personnel had been deployed to cover the protesters.
“We have deployed enough security personnel to ensure the safety of the protesters and the general public,” he reiterated.
Zero Tolerance for Disorder
The commandant also issued a stern warning against any acts capable of causing confusion during the protest.
“Any acts capable of causing confusion during the protest will not be tolerated,” Falala warned. “Those disobeying orders will be arrested and prosecuted.”
