The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adegoke Fayoade, has reassured residents of Lagos State of the police force’s commitment to ensuring safety and security on the Third Mainland Bridge and other major roads across the state.

This assurance comes in response to concerns raised about the alleged absence of police officers on the bridge and claims of possible collusion with criminal elements.

In a statement released on Monday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Commissioner of Police addressed these concerns, emphasizing that the state’s security apparatus remains robust and active.

“The command can confirm that police officers in both patrol cars and bikes are deployed to the Third Mainland Bridge and other strategic locations round-the-clock,” Fayoade stated.

He encouraged commuters to rely on the visible and constant presence of law enforcement at these critical points.

Fayoade also urged motorists and residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

He provided several emergency contact numbers for quick access to police assistance, underscoring the importance of community cooperation in maintaining security.

“Commuters are encouraged to take advantage of their static and roving presence at these locations,” he added. “They are equally enjoined to promptly inform the police of any suspicious or criminal activity, especially emergencies, on 09168631001, 09168631002, 09168631003, 09168631004, 08065154338, and 08063299264 to enable appropriate action.”

The Commissioner further assured that the safety of visitors and residents would continue to be a top priority for the police force in Lagos.

This statement is expected to allay fears and build confidence among Lagos residents, reinforcing the message that the security of lives and properties remains a central focus for the state’s law enforcement agencies.
