Popular social media personality, Verydarkman (VDM), has publicly called on music superstar Davido (David Adeleke) to secure the release of fellow singer Dammy Krane from police custody.
VDM alleged that Dammy Krane’s arrest and detention were instigated by Davido, urging the singer to show mercy and not be an oppressor.
In a video posted on his Instagram account on Wednesday, VDM recounted an encounter at a police station where he discovered that Dammy Krane was being held.
VDM explained that he had initially visited the station to thank the police officers who had assisted him in his work.
However, during his visit, a bystander mentioned that a celebrity with dreadlocks was in a cell, which prompted VDM to investigate further.
Upon seeing Dammy Krane in custody, VDM was surprised, noting, “He wasn’t someone I wanted to see. He always insults me every time.”
Despite their rocky relationship, VDM engaged Dammy Krane, who allegedly revealed that Davido was responsible for his arrest.
VDM confronted Dammy Krane, saying, “I asked him why he was in prison. And he told me that it was Davido who put him there.
I told him, ‘Why won’t he? You constantly attack him and his family unprovoked and without proof.’”
VDM further elaborated on Dammy Krane’s history of publicly criticizing Davido, including claims that Davido owed him money and even accusing him of being involved in the death of a friend, all without evidence.
In his plea to Davido, VDM said, “David Adeleke, Davido, you be my brother. You be my guy. And one thing I know about you is that you’re a jolly good fellow and you’re not an oppressor.
I know you have been pushed to the wall, but you aren’t an oppressor.”
He continued, “Davido, I know you are not an oppressor. Please, give him a second chance. Please. I will call you now.”
