President Bola Tinubu will embark on an official visit to Beijing, China, on Thursday, August 29, in a move to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and China.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, who outlined the key aspects of the President’s trip.

According to the statement, President Tinubu will make a brief stopover in the United Arab Emirates before heading to China, where he is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The meeting is expected to focus on deepening economic ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation.

“In China, the President will meet with President Xi Jinping and will hold meetings with Chinese business leaders on the sidelines of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation,” Ngelale said.

The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), a significant event in China-Africa relations, will serve as a platform for President Tinubu to engage with Chinese business leaders and discuss investment opportunities, trade relations, and infrastructure development.

Accompanying the President on this visit are senior government officials, including key members of his economic team.
