As preparations intensify for the upcoming local government elections in Plateau State, the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) has announced that it will commence the online recruitment of ad hoc staff.
The recruitment drive, aimed at bolstering the workforce for the October 9 elections, is set to take place from September 1 to September 14.
In a statement issued on Friday in Jos, Ms. Koro Yakubu, the Head of Media for PLASIEC, revealed that interested applicants are required to submit their applications via the commission’s official recruitment portal at https://plasiec.ng/recruitments.
“This is an opportunity for qualified and motivated individuals to partake in the electoral process,” Yakubu said, emphasizing the importance of public participation in ensuring a credible election.
She added that applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Card.
Preference for Local Talent
PLASIEC is placing a particular emphasis on recruiting staff and students from state-owned tertiary institutions, signaling a commitment to engaging local talent in the electoral process.
Yakubu noted that experience in previous electoral duties and the possession of an Android phone would be considered additional advantages for prospective candidates.
Applicants are required to complete the online application form accurately, as incomplete submissions will not be considered.
Yakubu assured that all successful candidates would be notified via email and SMS once the selection process is completed.
“For further inquiries, please contact our ICT helpline at 07071709575 or Admin helpline at 07079997506,” she stated, providing avenues for prospective applicants to seek additional information.
Commitment to Fairness and Transparency
Reaffirming the commission’s dedication to maintaining the integrity of the electoral process, Yakubu stated, “PLASIEC remains committed to upholding the principles of fairness, transparency, and integrity in all its operations.”
She encouraged all eligible individuals to seize this opportunity to contribute to the success of the upcoming local government elections.
