A group of protesters involved in the #EndBadGovernance movement, which took place from August 1st to 10th, 2024, has been ordered to be remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre.

This decision was made by Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday, following their arraignment on charges of treason.

The protesters, who have been accused of engaging in activities aimed at destabilizing the government, were charged with a six-count indictment that includes terrorism.

During the court proceedings, the accused pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Justice Nwite, in his ruling, ordered that the defendants be remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre pending the hearing and ruling on their bail application.

The bail hearing has been scheduled for September 11, 2024.

The charges against the protesters stem from their alleged involvement in organizing and participating in the #EndBadGovernance protests, which the Federal Government claims were part of a larger plot to overthrow the democratically elected government.
