In the early hours of Monday, a fire incident occurred at the Katsina Government House, engulfing the Red Chamber, an annexe to the governor’s office.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and the extent of the damage is still under investigation.
Emergency responders were swiftly deployed to the scene to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the Government House.
Confirming the incident, a government official who spoke on condition of anonymity said, “We are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
The Red Chamber was significantly affected, but it is too early to determine the full extent of the damage.”
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, who was not in the vicinity at the time of the incident, is presently in Daura on a statewide tour.
The tour aims to promote grassroots involvement in governance and advance development initiatives across the state.
Reacting to the fire outbreak, another official close to the governor stated, “His Excellency was informed of the situation immediately.
While he is deeply concerned, the focus now is on ensuring a thorough investigation to uncover the cause and prevent future occurrences.”
