Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun, wife of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has emphasized the importance of providing quality education for children at a tender age.
Speaking in Abuja during a donation of books and learning materials to students of the Police Officers’ Wives’ Association (POWA) schools, Mrs Egbetokun urged parents to create an enabling environment for their children to thrive, learn, and dream without fear or limitation.
“As parents, it’s our responsibility to create an environment where children can thrive, learn and dream without fear or limitation. We must ensure that every child has access to quality education, health care and most importantly love and support,” Mrs Egbetokun emphasized.
She further highlighted that providing children with quality education at a young age can deter them from engaging in criminal activities, ultimately creating a safer and more prosperous society for all.
In her address, Mrs Egbetokun also took the opportunity to acknowledge the resilience and courage of children facing adversity around the world, expressing particular concern for those separated from their families, living in conflict zones, or battling illness and poverty.
Addressing the children present at the event, she emphasized their importance as the “heartbeat of our nation” and the hope for a better future.
