Normalcy Returns To Birnin Kebbi Amid Heavy Security Presence Following Protests

0

After five days of planned protests in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, and other local governments, normalcy has returned to the area.

Despite this, a significant security presence remains on major roads, with heavily armed personnel from the police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Army, and armed squads from immigration and customs observed monitoring motorists and pedestrians.

The increased security measures follow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent national broadcast.

Anticipating potential reactions to the President’s address, authorities have reinforced the deployment of armed security personnel across key areas of Birnin Kebbi.

Particularly notable is the heightened security at the government house, where a police gun truck has been stationed at the entrance, underscoring the authorities’ caution and preparedness.

Residents and visitors in Birnin Kebbi are advised to cooperate with security personnel and adhere to any directives issued, as the state government works to maintain peace and order.

The situation remains under control, with security forces vigilant in ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
