Nigerian powerlifter, Onyinyechi Mark, has made history at the ongoing Paris 2024 Paralympic Games by breaking the Paralympic record in the women’s 61kg powerlifting category with a monumental lift of 147kg.
Her record-breaking feat surpassed the previous Paralympic record held by fellow Nigerian powerlifting legend, Lucy Ejike.
With one lift remaining, Mark has all but secured Nigeria’s first gold medal of the Games.
